What is p@ints?
Pioneering Arts in The Stables is a working studio that was set up by two professional Artists Tanya Jones and Sally Higgs. They both studied together on their HND in Fine Art as well as a BA Hons in Visual Art and Communication at Canterbury College, the University of Kent. The aim of this artist led initiative is to explore, produce, promote and exhibit contemporary art. P@ints is also used as an exhibiting space providing opportunities for artists to collaborate or exhibit here.
Exhibiting and service information
We do not charge for exhibiting and a photo of your work in the p@ints studio with your name on it will be put on the website. P@ints is not a gallery it is a working studio with exhibiting space so we welcome work not necessarily suitable for commercial galleries. The possibilities are endless!
Shared aims and interest
Tanya and Sally have a shared interest in art proposals that are inclusive and inventive, providing events for local communities, schools, hospitals and businesses. We also enjoy exhibiting work in unconventional spaces such as woodlands, churches, village halls and even a Biosciences department.
Personal Work
As a painter Tanya’s previous work explores concepts of time, change and life cycle. Through painting, photographic prints, light boxes, site specific installations and more her interdisciplinary approach seeks to collaborate with professionals in other disciplines as well as artists.
Sally’s previous work explores journeys through the landscape made on horse back in the countryside, the colours of the seasons and the memories of the experience feed into her work. Recently she has become more interested in producing 3D paintings reflecting the global concerns she has for the environment.
